"Last Tuesday, America witnessed the bloodiest day since the civil war. Not only was one of largest cities in our great nation destroyed, but thousands of Men, Women, and Children were slaughtered at the hands of these beasts, these so called 'Shapeshifters.' They attacked the defenseless citizens and tourists and left the windy city a smoldering pile of Rubble. Many of you are wondering why they did this, and I can provide you the answer. Simply their animal sides took over and they let this side of them consume them.  

In light of this event, we -The American Government- have henceforth outlawed any and all Shape Shifters, in order to protect the American people. Any and all of these so called 'Shape shifters' must turn themselves in their local Law Enforcement, or they shall face the consequences."  

Everyone remembers the day when Shape Shifter's were outlawed. For some who believe the propaganda about how 'Evil' they were and for others all it brings is sadness since they lost some of their loved ones due to the fact that the majority of Shifters that were caught were slaughtered in cold blood. Only a few shifters managed to escape the wrath of this new law, -mostly 12 years olds and younger since they weren't required to registered to register with the Government until the age of 13- and they managed to form small villages within the woods, but the majority of these villages were lost to Deforestation, Decline in Population, and Natural Disasters. So far only one village is known to be truly safe since it is within a hidden valley along the Appalachian Mountains in Maine. This village is known as Lapideas. 

Lapideas is a rather small village since there is about only twenty-five cabins, but they are extremely self sufficient and no non-shifters eyes have seen this place since before the dawn of America. Every family has one cabin, but many people share their cabins with others. There is no clear leader of this village, but everyone has a say for what happens with in the village.  For those that have been endlessly persecuted for who they were, it is Heaven on earth.

Life has been content for the six years that shifters have been considered illegal, but the humans are pushing closer and closer towards the village. Will they discover Lapideas?

ＲＵＬＥＳ

1. Follow the site Rules at all times.
      This should be a no brains required sort of rule. If you haven't read them yet, then go do that then come back here to join this Roleplay. This also includes romance, so uhh fade to black....
2. Please make a effort to keep the Genders even.
      Seriously, I don't want my Guys to be the only one in the Roleplay. If you see there is an imbalance of characters then try to fill the gap instead of widening it. I won't required you to make one boy for every girl and vice versa, but if you make two characters of the same gender, then you will have to make one of the opposite gender. (This doesn't count if the gender numbers for your characters are even) 
3. Do not overload on pictures.
      I have a slow computer, and I'm positive I'm not the only one, so out of respect please be easy on the pictures. 1-2 per form are the amount you should have. Also please don't go overly flashy with GIFs. I know people who are epileptic that come over to my house often, and I do not want to make a visit to the hospital. 
   Also a general rule when it comes to Human forms of your characters, whatever their animals fur/feathers/scales/skin color is, then that's your characters hair color. They can dye it of course to enter the human world, but it has to be mentioned somewhere what their real hair color is.
4. Your Characters may only turn into one animal.
        One, not two, nor fifteen. Only one. Also do not make it some mythical creature, hybrid of two unlikely animals, just an average animal that could be found at a zoo. Also please keep ages somewhere between 12-18 since the majority of the shifters were children when they fled into the woods. 
5. Don't Godmod or Power Play
        News Flash! Your character isn't invincible! Yes he or she may be at the top of the food chain, but there will be some fights they won't win and how would you like it if your character's fate being decided without your permission? Yeah it's not fun. While we are on the topic please no Mary Sues or Gary Stu's. Everyone has flaws, and being afraid to break a nail isn't one of them.
6. Please write at least three sentences per post.
          This includes writers block! It's not that difficult to do, describe the surroundings, your characters outfit, their thoughts of the person they are with, or even what they want for lunch! Just write at least three and preferably more! Also please have fairly decent grammar and spelling since no one wants to spend a half hour trying to decode whatever you wrote.
7. Do not Remake this thread without my permission.
       If the thread is needing to be remade, I will do it myself. I've already had to deal with people stealing this Rp's intro for their own, and I will not be happy if I have to deal with it a third time.

At first glance, Ashlyn appears to be a completely normal Junior in High school, but in reality she's far from it. You see this shy wallflower isn't exactly human, she's a shapeshifter. Ashlyn has the ability to become a Red Panda, but nobody besides people who can do this as well knows. After all, she is illegal according to the American government... However it wasn't always this way. Ash can remember a time when she didn't have to hide who she was and she wasn't always looking over her shoulder for someone that would turn her in to the local law officials in exchange for the hefty bounty on her head. When she turned eleven, the announcement was made that being a Shifter was now illegal, and frightened by the notion of being thrown in jail -since she didn't understand that the shifters were being killed instead of arrested- and ran off into the New Hampshire woods that was adjacent to her backyard to hide. She stayed there for several hours until the sun began to set, and came back home knowing that her mother would want her present for dinner. However dinner wasn't ready and the walls were covered in blood. Her parents were dead, killed by the people who has vowed to protect them. Ashlyn stayed in her home for one day -hiding out in her room-  until her aunt who was also a shifter, came by to see if any of her relatives had also survived the government's genocide. This is where she found Ashlyn. Knowing that the young girl was no longer safe in her home, Ashlyn moved to Maine with her aunt. There she became a part of the village of Lapideas. She now takes care of her aging aunt, always grateful about how this woman saved her life.

This is Atticus Cameron Archer, but some people prefer to call him Att or even Attic. (Which he hates by the way...) As the older twin he was named after his father, who was also a shifter and is famous for defying the law against Shifters until he was tragically killed by law enforcement. He doesn't carry the Junior title though, since his mother believed that Maximus wasn't a proper middle name for her son. Atticus is a Latin name which means "From Attica" which is a region in Greece. His name also happens to be the first name of a popular character from How to Kill a MockingBird . While Cameron is Scottish and believe it or not it means Crooked Nose. For the record Atticus does not have a crooked nose and -unless he breaks it within the course of his life- it shall stay that way. His last name in this case is Archer simply means that he has a talented Archer in his family lineage.
